Etching Series: The Perpetual Present

Created during the 2003 Iraq War at the Artists’ House in Tel Aviv, this series emerged from the intersection of traditional printmaking and immediate current events. The technique involved cleaning plates with newspapers, allowing the grit of the news to influence the visual language of the etchings.

While rooted in a specific geopolitical moment, the work transcends its original context. In our current era of ongoing conflict, these pieces speak to the cyclical nature of war. They are not artifacts of the past, but a continuous dialogue with a reality that remains unchanged, emphasizing that the experience of war is not bound by time.
